In Norse mythology Loki is a god or spirit (or both). He is the son of the giant Fárbauti and Laufey, and is the blood brother of Odin. Known as the God of Mischief, he was believed to switch his allegiances between the gods and mankind, at times creating troubles for both sides. Loki had the ability to shape shift, often changing into numerous different creatures.
The reverse of the coin depicts Loki wearing a cloak which is turning into smoke at the edges. He is accompanied by the serpent Jormungand and the wolf Fenrir. The design also includes three masks representative of the many forms Loki takes on as a shape shifter.
